How it works
- Paste the draftStraight from ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
- Check the counterThe output counter turns red if you go over 3,000 characters.
- Copy and editPaste into LinkedIn, then put your own voice on the first two lines.
Why your AI draft looks broken on LinkedIn
LinkedIn’s post box shows text exactly as you paste it. It doesn’t render Markdown, so the **bold** and ## headings that looked fine in ChatGPT appear as literal asterisks and hashes. Long dashes, curly quotes and uneven blank lines add to the “this was pasted from an AI” look.
What the LinkedIn preset does
- Removes Markdown: bold, italics, headings, quotes, code marks and divider lines.
- Bullets become • dots, which LinkedIn shows correctly, instead of
*or-. - Em dashes become commas, and number ranges like 2020–2024 become 2020-2024.
- Curly quotes and ellipsis characters become plain ones.
- Blank lines are tidied so you don’t get large gaps. Emoji are kept.
- Counts the result against the 3,000-character limit for a post.
Formatting that survives on LinkedIn
- Short paragraphs of one to three lines with a blank line between them are easy to read on a phone.
- The first lines are your hook. Only the beginning of a post shows before “see more”, so don’t spend it on a greeting.
- Use • or numbers for lists, and keep each item to a line.
- Skip fake bold. You can paste special “bold” Unicode letters, but screen readers read them badly and search can’t match them.
Removing the formatting tells is only half of it. Readers notice generic phrasing too, so rewrite the opening in your own words before you post. This tool doesn’t rewrite anything and doesn’t make a text undetectable.
FAQ
Does LinkedIn support bold or Markdown in posts?
Not in the standard post box as far as we know: asterisks and hashes show up literally. Some people paste Unicode “bold” letters instead, but that hurts accessibility and search.
What is the LinkedIn post character limit?
3,000 characters for a regular post. The counter on this page turns red when the cleaned text goes over.
Will it keep my emoji and line breaks?
Yes. The LinkedIn preset leaves emoji alone and only tidies runs of blank lines.
Why remove em dashes?
Long dashes are heavily associated with AI-written text, and they also render inconsistently across fonts. Replacing them with commas is a style choice you can switch off under “Fine-tune what gets cleaned”.
Is my draft stored?
No. The text is processed in your browser and never sent to a server.
